A Mountain is a Mountain, A Tree is a Tree
Site-specific installation at the Headlands Center for the Arts.
Wall installation with digital prints on paper, dyptich each 12"x16". 2005.
These are prints in the dimensions of a 20" TV. A photograph is taken from an area of the wall then put back on the wall at the exact area.
The slight silvery and fuzzy appearance of the photographs references the TV screen, while at the same time camouflages as a transparent material, having a peculiar effect of seeing through to the actual walls. How do we reconcile the reality in the face of a mimetic representation of it? Why was the patch of wall a wall a moment ago, but now could be art?
