As Is

Site-specific installation, room, black materials to darken the room, lens. Room size 20’w x 15’h x 18’l

All light sources are blocked from the back Parlor Room upstairs, which has windows open to the 20th Street. A hole is punctured in the window paper, letting in the only light. The scenes from outside of the house in the 20th Street at Capp Street are streamed into the room live through the pin-hole, on all surfaces especially the opposite wall. The live sounds are channeled into the same room with a microphone.  This provides an immersive experience for visitors. The area of San Francisco is well-known for its contentious activities. A vertical screen is placed strategically so that it frames a tree in the street, a subtle way to remind us how our perceptive can be affected by mediation.
